The Problem We Saw

After going through interview loops at Google, Stripe, and Airbnb, it became clear that the gap between what candidates study and what actually gets tested is enormous. Most prep focuses on memorizing solutions. Real interviews test how you think — how you scope problems, communicate trade-offs, and handle ambiguity.

What We Built

TheMentor is the platform we wished existed. Every piece of content — from coding problems to system design deep dives — is written by engineers who have sat on both sides of the interview table. Our mock interviews are conducted by active engineers, not hired coaches reading from a rubric.

Our Philosophy

We believe interview prep should build real engineering skills, not just interview tricks. The best way to pass a system design interview is to actually understand distributed systems. The best way to ace coding rounds is to deeply understand algorithmic patterns — not just recognize problem templates.

Our content is intentionally dense. We don't pad with filler. Every blog post, every problem explanation, and every system design lesson is written to teach you something real.
